Visiting the Farm
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do CSA members have special tours and visits to the farm?
The Strawberry Social is the annual CSA-only event that we encourage all members to attend and enjoy. Typically held in the middle of June, we provide u-pick strawberries, lots of activities for the kids, and farm tours led by Jack and others. Stay tuned as to when the date for 2013 will be held!
2. Can I visit the farm anytime?
We encourage members to join us for our Strawberry Social in June; an excellent time to connect with the farm, see how your produce is grown, and talk to Jack and the team. Because we are a working farm, we are often busy during the growing season. However, if you cannot make it for the Strawberry Social and really wish to see the farm, you can contact Jennifer Breitlow, our CSA Customer Relations Coordinator, to schedule a 20 - 30 minute farm tour led by Jennifer.
3. Can I volunteer or intern on the farm?
Unfortunately, we do not have a volunteer or intern program in place at this time. From time to time, we do recruit volunteers for special projects.
4. How can I get more information on what goes on at Featherstone?
Thanks to the web and YouTube, we have a lot of videos posted of Jack and the crew so that folks can get a better sense of the philosophy and work at Featherstone. Jack also has written many an op-ed article for The New York Times and other publications, which we encourage people to check out and learn more.
