Appreciation is also what I experience as I watch the team at Featherstone. Jack comes into the office with a smile on his face and bags under his eyes from a very early morning, while Olegario and Salvador's crew are on hands and knees plucking weeds from a lettuce bed. The office team fields phone calls and emails, and we all pour ourselves a third cup of coffee. It is simply a reminder of the intense build up and labor in preparation of bringing forth food from a seed to the field to a box to a home.
Many of you may be new to the CSA experience, while for others it is old hat. Our hope is that the sense of appreciation and connectedness will be nurtured and grow for you throughout the season. We hope that the joy of opening a veritable treasure box with new gems each week will lead you to great adventures in the kitchen and new insights into what you consume. We hope it will open doors to good ideas and experimentation. Mostly however, we hope it brings you great satisfaction. We're excited for a fantastic season to begin.
